Crochet Flower Coaster Pattern (Step by Step)


Round 1 [Red]: Center Ring [12dc]

Start with a slip knot, 4ch, sl st in the first ch; 1sc+1ch ( =1dc), 11dc;

Slip stitch on top of the first dc;

Insert hook from back in the first dc, and pull the yarn loop through it. 

Total 12 stitches in Round 1. 


Round 2 [White]: Base Increase Round [2dc]

1sc+1ch (=1dc), 1dc in the same st; 

2dc in each st around (1dc increase in every st);

Slip st in top of the first dc;

Insert hook from back in the first dc st, and pull the yarn loop through it.

 Total 24 stitches in Round 2.


Round 3 [White]: Increase Round [1dc+2dc]

1sc+1ch (=1dc), 2dc in the next st; 

*[1dc in the 3rd st, 

2dc (1dc increase in every 2nd st) in the 4th st]**; 

REPEAT from * to **;  

Slip st on top of the first dc;

Insert hook from back, and pull the yarn loop through it. 

Total 36 stitches in Round 3.


Round 4 [Green]: Leaves 

Start with a slip knot and Attach to any stitch;

make 4ch and1dc in same st, 

*[skip 1 st,

Work 1dc, 1ch, 1dc in same st]**


REPEAT from * to ** around;

sl st in the 4th ch of the first post, 

Insert hook from back, and pull the yarn loop through it, 

Sniff off yarn.


Round 5 [Red] : Flower Petals

Start with a slip knot, attach to any "V" structure,

*[3ch,

Yarn over, insert the hook in the V, pull up a loop, pull it up to the level of 4ch,

Pull through yarn into the first 2 loops only**,

Repeat 5 more times in the same V;

Now you will have 7 loops on the hook;

Yarn over, pull the yarn through 6 loops only;

2 loops left on the hook;

Yarn over and pull through the last 2 loops;

Now work 3 chains;

And slip stitch in the 'V' to complete the FIRST PETAL. 

2 sl st in next two stitches]**,


REPEAT from * to ** like the first petal around.


At the end of the Round, 

sl st in the first "V", 1ch, 

Sniff off the yarn. 

Sew extra yarn.
